forumZFD in the Philippines
In 2007, we started our work in the Philippines with the goal of promoting non-violent ways of dealing with conflict. Today, the organization employs more than 15 people in three project offices on the island of Mindanao: in Davao, Butuan, and Cotabato. We work with and support actors dedicated to peace and non-violent conflict transformation. Committed to impartiality, we engage actors from different spheres of society including local civil society, Indigenous Peoples (IPs), journalists, film-makers, universities, teachers, and various government institutions.
Our mission
Together with our local partners, we work in three thematic areas: we promote a deeper understanding of the conflict and its causes, enhance the participation of marginalized groups in peace processes, and promote and strengthen methods and skills of Non-Violent Conflict Transformation (NVCT).
Our partners
Our local partners are, among others: the Commission on Higher Education (CHED, Davao Region), the Peace and Conflict Journalism Network (PECOJON), the Media Educators Mindanao network (MEM), Kutawato Multimedia Network (KuMuNet), the Notre Dame Broadcasting Corporation (NDBC), Panaghiusa Alang sa Kaugalingnan ug Kalingkawasan, Inc.
