PECOJON - The Peace and Conflict Journalism Network
PECOJON - The Peace and Conflict Journalism Network is an international network of journalists and communications professionals committed to mainstreaming Conflict Sensitive Journalism. CSJ aims to improve the quality of news reporting specifically of conflict, disasters and other situations of violence. PECOJON works with various stakeholders and civil society organizations to bring about as many relevant voices in social issues and thereby facilitate peace without losing journalism.
Media Educators of Mindanao Inc
The Media Educators of Mindanao (MEM) is a SEC registered non-stock, non-profit organization of college and senior high teachers of media and communication subjects with an advocacy on conflict-sensitive journalism. Founded in 2013 and formalized in 2017, it is assisted by the German peace organization forumZFD, Peace and Conflict Journalist Network Philippines (PECOJON), and recognized by the Commission of Higher Education (CHED).
forumZFD
forumZFD is an International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO), established in 1996. We are working in the field of conflict transformation in eleven countries in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. In 2007, we started our work in the Philippines with the goal of promoting non-violent ways of dealing with conflict. Today, the organization employs more than 15 people in three project offices on the island of Mindanao: in Davao, Butuan, and Cotabato. We work with and support actors dedicated to peace and non-violent conflict transformation. Committed to impartiality, we engage actors from different spheres of society including local civil society, Indigenous Peoples, journalists, film-makers, universities, teachers, and various government institutions.
